What is Wordle?
- According to Wordle.net, a Wordle is a toy for generating “word clouds” from text that you provide. The clouds give greater prominence to words that appear more frequently in the source text. You can tweak your clouds with different fonts, layouts, and color schemes. The images you create with Wordle are yours to use however you like. You can print them out, or save them to the Wordle gallery to share with your friends.
- Wordle was created by Jonathan Feinberg in 2009.

How do you use it?
- Go to http://www.wordle.net/create
- Type your text into the box
- If you want certain words to become bigger, type them more than once. The more often a word appears, the bigger it will be!!
- If you need to write a phrase, do so by connecting the words in the phrase with a tilde (~). EX: Upper~Body~Movements (see example below to see what this will look like)
- Once you've entered your text, click the create button in the lower-left corner and wait a few short moments for the creation of your Wordle.
- Customize your Wordle by clicking the "Randomize" button at the bottom of your Wordle or play with the tabs at the top controlling the language, font, layout and colors (text and background).
