1.) Expanding Classrooms 2.) Creating Worlds
Push the Limits
Enter a world with infinite possibilities and live a life without boundaries, guided only by your imagination. Do what you love, with the people you love, from anywhere in the world.
Second life is a free on-line virtual world. Users begin their virtual journey on Welcome Island where they learn to use the program and create the lives of characters. As users explore Second Life, they can socialize and expand. One of the greatest things about Second Life is the ability to join groups that have already been created such as book clubs, movie clubs, or clubs based on themes. The groups intertwine to form communities and within those communities there are events and forms. The events allow for characters to always be doing something and the forms track the characters "journey," a.k.a life. With Second Life, not only can the classroom be virtual, but students' projects and lessons can come to life in various parts of the world. Allowing students to explore and see their work in a whole new way.
