Basics/History
iMovie was first released in 1999 with the Mac OS 8. This program ontains the Fire Wire for the DV. Windows Movie Maker was first released in 2000 for Windows Me program, then again in 2001 with Windows XP. The original Movie maker was retired after the release of Windows Vista for the newer version called Windows Live Movie Maker. THe newer version does not have the same features as the Windows Movie Maker. Both operating versions are designed as video editing software that has become standard on many computers.
How to use Movie Maker/iMovie

Using Movie Maker/iMovie in the Classroom
English- Need a different way to help studetns connect the book's themes to images, music and wording. Students can create Book trailers using either creator. Science- Students can easily create videos about cycles or the processes within science. Students can also create videos about their programs or classes like in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pVmfl3C7Iuc
History- Students can easily create presentations through the vido softwares. It can be done instead of PowerPoint Presentations, Papers, or tri-fold displays. Here is an example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AsHCgqn5EgU
Theater- Being a theater major, it is easier to come up with ideas. Students can create a video sketch show as a project, record processes of activities, like hanging lights, putting on makeup, or creating a character. We can easily use it to record performances .
